What this indicator does

QF_MA_Free is designed as a lightweight, transparent tool – not a magic black box. It gives you clear MA cross entries plus a quick visual read on how strong the move is.

  • Fast/slow EMA cross (default: 9 and 21).
  • Non-repaint: signals appear only when the bar closes.
  • Strength value (0–5) plotted near each arrow.
  • Top-right HUD showing the latest trend strength.
  • Clean arrows offset away from candles for visibility.
  • Lightweight, no DLLs, works on any MT4 symbol & timeframe.

How to install on MT4

  1. Download QF_MA_Free.mq4 using the button above.
  2. In MT4, go to File → Open Data Folder.
  3. Open the folder MQL4/Indicators and copy the file there.
  4. Restart MT4 (or refresh indicators) and attach QF_MA_Free from Navigator → Indicators to your chart.

Inputs (default settings)

  • FastMAPeriod: 9
  • SlowMAPeriod: 21
  • MAMethod: EMA
  • AppliedPrice: Close
  • ArrowOffsetPts: 5.0 (min arrow distance from candles)
  • TrendScalePts: 15.0 (scales the 0–5 strength meter)

You can tweak these values per symbol and timeframe. For example, lower TrendScalePts if you want higher strength numbers on slower pairs.
